Blog Post #4 Real-Time Dunkin' Donuts


Dunkin' Donuts uses real-time updates to engage with their customers about their menu items. They are always using twitter to post fun coffee sayings and to promote the Dunkin' app for their customers to download in order to receive rewards points towards free drinks. It is such a great way to interact with customers because with one small post that shows how much a brand cares will brighten anyone's day. Dunkin' communicates with their customers using two-way communication by answering the comments from customers in the comment section of their tweets. Dunkin' asks questions for their customers in their tweets to have them engage in the comment section to get a conversation started. Dunkin' has a witty way with their tweets making them lighthearted and funny. Their tweets are an attention grabber and personally I have laughed a lot reading them. Dunkin' has to know their audience to be able to know their witty humor has been noticed and to keep it going without having to change up their tweet style. I believe Dunkin' Donuts could improve their use of social media by engaging with customers by using memes or fun coffee gifs to go along with their witty humor to show more emotion and not just words. I also believe they can improve their social media use by doing fun taste testing video shorts on their new food and drink items through Tik Tok, Instagram, and Youtube shorts to give customers a review on whether or not they should try the items themselves.
